Opened the meeting with a moment of meditative silence followed by the Serenity prayer.

Old Business

  1. Plain Language in treatment and women’s prison?? Going extremely well in corrections facilities!
  2. Stickers, BTG etc.(Travis to finish up for next meeting) this will happen!
  3. CPC/PI connection and involvement with for profit? Lizzie is going to bring it to the committee and let us know.
  4. As a group what is our focus and message for picnic 25? UNITY!!! TO SHOW UP!!!
  1. Our goal as a committee is to leave the incoming crew in 26’ in a better place!
    1. What activities are we participating in? Cook off, kids section, potluck, 50/50 raffle, baskets, TAC and CPC/PI tables.

New Business:

A-Picnic Updates – SELL TICKETS!!! Tables and pop ups are needed! Let us know if you are bringing some! A few garden burgers. 50/50 raffle is CASH ONLY! BASKETS FOR AUCTION AND RAFFLE- Have your meeting specify if they want their basket to go for the raffle or the auction when they drop it off!!! IF YOUR GROUP IS DONATING A BASKET PLEASE TEXT MICHELLE 310-283-3164 AND LET HER KNOW.

B-Service Assembly update – great connections and info sharing. Aug 16th Shoshone Park H&I Awareness Day- flier is on the area 18 website

C-Marisa proposal? Hannah and Lizzie will get together and talk to Marisa.

D-May meeting – Do we want to meet a week out to picnic? YES Sat the 31st. AT MICHELLE’S HOUSE @ 10AM 2724 n Esquire Dr Boise

E-Inventory updates and order info –Picnic: Need single raffle tickets for the cookoff, tasting cups, Michelle will review the numbers and recommend what is needed. Discussion about large print and Plain Language books.

F-BACYPAA report – Will follow up with Drew and Dustin

Insurance quote update – Make sure general liability covers events.

Vivian makes a motion- In the event we need an endorsement for general liability coverage for the event up to $150 in addition to $351 for the policy is approved.
