Corrections – Statement of Purpose

The TAC Corrections Subcommittee coordinates the efforts of A.A. members and groups who are interested in carrying the message of recovery to alcoholics who are incarcerated.  The committee works directly with the administration of correctional institutions and individual “facilitators” of A.A. in order to ensure all facility rules are followed within the guidelines of the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We also coordinate with “Bridging the Gap,” which puts incarcerated individual in touch with sober members living in the area where they will be living when released to help them make the transition to living in society.

Additionally, the Corrections arm of TAC provides literature such as Big Books, 12x12s, Living Sober, and assorted other brochures, pamphlets and books to incarcerated individuals.

Currently, TV TAC Corrections supports both women and men at Ada County Jail (2F/1M meeting/wk), IDOC Facilities (3M/1F meeting/wk at 3 facilities), and Owyhee County Jail (1F meeting/wk).

REQUIREMENTS: 2 years sobriety, PREA training, application and background check.

NEED: many more volunteers so that we can grow into more facilities and more geographical locations.
